About ME

Hi, I’m Elisha Sugano, a contemporary and abstract artist, born Japanese-Malaysian and brought up in Dubai.

My aim with my artwork is always to evoke a sense of harmony and grounded-ness. Through the use of colour, I like to capture emotions and feelings inspired by my every day life. Sometimes it’s a landscape, a feeling, or an experience.

With my abstract pieces, I use texture and movement to replicate a feeling, to capture it, and to make it enduring.

My Approach

Sometimes I’m going about my day, and I notice the sky, or a bush of flowers or the feel of the wind, and I’m inspired to capture this feeling and to transform it into something I can experience again.

This is something that photographs sometime can’t quite capture- the essence of an emotion. When I work with clients to commission works, I want to understand the energy that they’re curating in their space. Whether it’s an office or a home, paintings can bring life the the blank walls we stare at every day, and have a larger impact on how we experience our every day.

what I do

I’m currently based in Dubai, UAE. I create original artworks, working mainly with oil paints. I also take commissions, where I help you bring your visions to life, capturing a feeling and transforming your space.
